Position Highlights

Pool & Beach Attendant. Working outdoors at the pool and on the beach, your core purpose is to keep these areas clean, safe and welcoming for guests all day. You will set up furniture and umbrellas, clean decks, walkways and showers, maintain the pool and its chemical balance, inspect pump room equipment and help guests with a friendly, service-minded attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle guest inquiries timely and efficiently, and assist guests with chairs on the beach when required
• Set up pool furniture, stack lounge chairs when not in use, and ensure umbrellas are open and secure
• Sweep the entire pool deck, paying special attention to bird and iguana droppings, and sweep and clean the walkway between pool and beach and the beach showers
• Wash and hose down pool furniture, empty trash cans in the pool and beach areas daily, and keep the pool area clean at all times
• Pick up towels, floats and toys left around the pool and beach and store them in the activity booth for the morning shift
• Vacuum the pool, scrub tiles, clean the skimmers, skim leaves from the water and shine the step handles
• Take pool chemical readings at the stipulated times and treat the water with the appropriate chemicals according to safety standards
• Check supplies and chemicals, picking up requisitions from the Supervisor when required
• Inspect all pump room equipment daily, and wash and maintain pool filters

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

EPB education or equivalent. Basic swimming certificate. Can speak and has a good understanding of English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento. Previous experience as a pool attendant is an added advantage. Able to lift 25–50 pounds regularly, move safely over uneven terrain, walk the property multiple times per day and work under the sun for extended periods. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

Pool cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, skimming and filter care. Pool chemical readings and water treatment according to safety standards. Pool and beach furniture set-up. CPR and First Aid certification is an added advantage.

Soft Skills:

Friendly and service minded with guests. Works independently and reliably outdoors throughout the shift.

Success Metrics

Pool and beach areas are clean, safe and set up for guests, chemical readings are taken on time and within standards, equipment is inspected daily, and guest requests are handled promptly.
