Position Highlights
Bartender. Behind the bar, your core purpose is to serve drinks that are consistent, well presented and responsibly poured, while keeping the bar stocked, clean and secure. You will prepare cocktails to recipe with the right garnishes, check stock against the par list, handle coupons and transfers, and upsell with a service-oriented manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Know cocktail preparation terminology and liquor order abbreviations, and follow the call procedure
- Prepare all drinks according to recipes and consistently follow established garnishes
- Follow all checklist points and check the bar, environment and equipment
- Check the par list for shortages, and check juice, mixer, soft drink, beer, liquor and wine stock
- Ensure ample ice for anticipated business, set up liquor, check glassware and prepare napkins and coasters
- Provide responsible alcoholic beverage service, following alcohol awareness guidelines for dealing with intoxicated guests
- Handle bottle transfers and check beverage coupons of guests who are not on an all-inclusive plan
- Clean the entire bar area as you go, empty trash and secure the bar
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
MAVO high school diploma with 1 year of experience as a bartender. Bartender diploma. Fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch. Must have a valid Health Card. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.
Core Skills:
Cocktail preparation to recipe and garnish standards. Bar set-up, stock checks and par levels. Responsible alcohol service. Great computer skills and suggestive (up)selling.
Soft Skills:
Service oriented and personable with guests. Organized and consistent under pressure.
Success Metrics
Drinks are consistent and served promptly, the bar is always stocked to par, clean and secure, alcohol is served responsibly, and upselling supports bar revenue.
