Position Highlights
Beach Attendant. In this active and guest-centric role, you serve as the caretaker of the quintessential Aruban vacation experience. Your core purpose is to be the welcoming face on the sand, ensuring our guests are comfortably settled while maintaining an immaculate and organized beach environment. By anticipating guest needs and monitoring the shoreline with “quiet authority,” you contribute to the tranquil and high-standard atmosphere that defines a stay at Amsterdam Manor.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the beach area daily, including the precise setup of lounge chairs, palapas, and umbrellas.
- Welcome guests as they arrive on the sand, assisting them with seating and providing fresh beach towels.
- Maintain the pristine condition of our section of Eagle Beach, proactively clearing litter and ensuring all areas remain spotless.
- Monitor the beach area to ensure a safe, tranquil, and comfortable environment for all visitors.
- Collaborate closely with the Passions on the Beach waitstaff to ensure a seamless overall guest experience.
- Assist with beach-side food and beverage service and order entry using the ALOHA POS system when required.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, resolving inquiries with a solution-oriented approach.
- Manage the daily breakdown and secure storage of beach equipment at the end of the shift.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Previous experience in the hospitality or service sector is preferred. Physical stamina to work comfortably outdoors in a warm, sunny environment and the ability to lift and move beach equipment regularly. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Core Skills:
Fluency in English, Spanish, and Papiamento to connect effectively with our international and local guests. Ability to carry multiple plates or service trays. Basic proficiency with POS systems (ALOHA experience is a plus).
Soft Skills:
A proactive mindset with a strong dedication to cleanliness and detailed organization. Professional, flexible, and calm under pressure.
Success Metrics
Consistently high guest satisfaction scores regarding beach service and cleanliness. Efficient and timely completion of daily beach setup and breakdown protocols. Demonstrated proactive maintenance of the beach environment, ensuring a litter-free and organized space at all times.
