Operating point-of-sale systems and cash registers to ring up sales, process card and cash payments, apply discounts and handle refunds correctly.
For candidates
Name the POS systems you have used (for example Micros, Toast, Square, Lightspeed or a retail system) and what you did in them: voids, discounts, split bills, end-of-day reports. If you trained colleagues on a system, say so.
For employers
Name the system, but do not reject candidates who know a different one: POS systems are quick to learn for someone who has used any. Say whether the role includes refunds and end-of-day closing.
