Position Highlights

Seamstress. In this specialized role, you ensure the professional presentation of our team and the resort’s aesthetic standards through the meticulous care and repair of textiles. Your core purpose is to maintain the integrity of uniforms, linens, and upholstery, ensuring that every fabric detail reflects the premium quality of the Divi brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs and alterations on employee uniforms to ensure a professional and consistent brand appearance.
• Mend and maintain guest room linens, curtains, and decorative textiles to extend their lifecycle and maintain resort standards.
• Execute precise sewing tasks including hemming, stitching, and button replacement using both industrial machines and hand-stitching techniques.
• Assist with the maintenance and minor repairs of upholstery and soft furnishings throughout the resort’s public areas and guest rooms.
• Manage the inventory of sewing supplies, threads, and fabrics, ensuring the workshop remains organized and fully stocked.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of sewing equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with the Housekeeping and Laundry departments to prioritize repair requests and meet daily operational needs.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Proven experience as a professional Seamstress or Tailor, ideally within a high-volume hospitality or commercial environment. Full fluency in English; knowledge of Papiamento or Spanish is an asset. Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by resort operations.

Core Skills:

Mastery of industrial and domestic sewing machines. Deep knowledge of fabric types, stitching techniques, and garment construction. Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and pattern adjustments.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional attention to detail and patience. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity.

Success Metrics

Demonstrated consistency in the quality and durability of all repairs and alterations. High efficiency in managing the turnaround time for uniform and linen maintenance. Minimal waste of materials through precise cutting and resourceful repair techniques.
