Position Highlights

Golf Starter. In this highly visible guest-facing role, you serve as the first point of contact for players embarking on their round. Your core purpose is to ensure a seamless and enjoyable golfing experience by managing tee times and cart fleet logistics with quiet authority. By maintaining an organized flow of play and a calm, professional demeanor, you set the tone for a world-class day on the greens.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and organize golfers’ reservations, ensuring tee times are adhered to.
• Communicate with the pro shop to manage scheduling adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate the order of groups on the first tee and monitor the pace of play to address any delays or bottlenecks.
• Greet players warmly and provide necessary course information, including rules, conditions, and etiquette.
• Brief players on safety guidelines and ensure compliance with golf course policies, including proper attire and equipment usage.
• Clean and sanitize golf carts after each use, ensuring they are fully charged, fueled, and stocked with scorecards, pencils, and tees.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
• Assist golfers with loading and unloading their equipment and provide guidance on cart operation.
• Organize carts in the staging area for daily use, retrieve carts left on the course, and monitor their proper return.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the cart barn and assist with special events or tournaments.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Previous experience in a golf course or hospitality setting is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required , alongside a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

Familiarity with tee sheets and knowledge of golf course operations, rules, and etiquette. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento.

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. A collaborative team player. Address any player inquiries or concerns professionally.

Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the smooth, uninterrupted flow of play and consistently positive guest feedback. Success is measured by the accuracy of tee time management, the immaculate presentation and operational readiness of the cart fleet, and the proactive resolution of guest inquiries.
