Position Highlights
Golf Starter. Stationed at the first tee and the cart barn, your core purpose is to give every golfer a smooth, safe and well-paced round. You will manage tee times with the pro shop, brief players on rules and etiquette, keep play moving, and prepare, maintain and organize the golf cart fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and organize golfers' reservations, ensuring tee times are adhered to, and coordinate scheduling adjustments with the pro shop
- Greet players warmly, provide course information on rules, conditions and etiquette, and address inquiries professionally
- Coordinate the order of groups on the first tee, monitor the pace of play and address delays
- Brief players on safety guidelines and ensure compliance with course policies, including proper attire and equipment usage
- Clean and sanitize golf carts after each use, and ensure they are charged, fueled and stocked with scorecards, pencils and tees
- Inspect carts regularly and report mechanical issues
- Assist golfers with loading and unloading equipment, and explain cart operation and course rules for cart usage
- Organize carts in the staging area, retrieve carts left on the course, and ensure returned carts are properly stored
- Keep the cart barn and staging area clean and organized
- Assist with special events and tournaments, ensuring carts are ready and distributed efficiently
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Previous experience in a golf course or hospitality setting preferred. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento. Must have a valid driver's license. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.
Core Skills:
Familiarity with tee sheets. Knowledge of golf course operations, rules and etiquette. Pace-of-play management. Golf cart preparation and fleet organization.
Soft Skills:
Good communication skills and a welcoming manner with players. Team player who manages multiple tasks and prioritizes effectively.
Success Metrics
Tee times run on schedule, pace of play is steady, players know the course rules, and carts are always clean, charged, stocked and ready.
