Position Highlights

Warehouse Receiving Clerk. As the first checkpoint for everything that enters the warehouse, your core purpose is to make sure every delivery is correct, undamaged and properly recorded. You will receive and inspect deliveries against purchase orders, invoices and packing lists, process returns, store goods in the right place and keep inventory records accurate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sign for and unload deliveries from trucks
  • Inspect deliveries to ensure they match order and invoice criteria, and that no damaged items are sent or received
  • Compare purchase orders with invoices and packing lists, ensuring the products in each delivery match the packing list
  • Properly account for the location of incoming goods, organizing and storing received items in the appropriate areas
  • Update the product inventory as items are received and added
  • Process returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items, packaging products for return to vendors and completing the necessary paperwork
  • Communicate with vendors regarding delays or problems
  • Maintain records of orders and delivery details
  • Be familiar with the property’s fire and emergency program

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

EPB/MAVO high school diploma or equivalent, with 1 year of experience. Forklift certificate. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento. Good physical health. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

Computer skills, with experience in data entry and inventory software programs. Checking deliveries against purchase orders, invoices and packing lists. Basic math skills. A good understanding of warehouse safety regulations and forklift operation.

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills for working with vendors and colleagues. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when inspecting goods and keeping records.

Success Metrics

Every delivery is checked, signed for and matched to its purchase order and invoice, and damaged or incorrect items are identified and returned promptly. Received goods are stored in the right location, inventory records are updated accurately and on time, and vendors are informed quickly about any delays or problems.
