Position Highlights

Storeroom Attendant – Engineering Department. Running the engineering storeroom, your core purpose is to make sure the maintenance team has the right parts and supplies, correctly documented and securely stored. You will order within minimum and maximum stock levels through approved suppliers, check deliveries, issue items against requisitions and take regular stock counts.

Key Responsibilities

• Order goods and supplies to maintain maximum and minimum stock levels, through approved suppliers only, obtaining permission for items only available from an alternate source
• Ensure goods received match the quality, quantity and price agreed
• Complete all delivery administration on time and correctly, and take the necessary action for non-delivery, substandard deliveries or overpricing
• Ensure all items are stored correctly and rotated on a first in, first out basis
• Ensure all issues are made against requisitions, with no items leaving the storeroom without the appropriate documentation or signature
• Maintain maximum security of all storeroom areas, ensuring no unauthorized person enters or holds a key
• Inform management and follow agreed procedures when any item is damaged
• Take stock and inventory at prescribed intervals and complete all administration without delay
• Attend meetings or training courses as required

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

High school diploma or MBO diploma, with 2 years of experience preferred. Fluent in English, Papiamento, Spanish and Dutch. Knowledge of engineering operations. Strong physical condition. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

Purchasing within stock levels and approved suppliers. Receiving, storage, stock rotation and issuing against requisitions. Stock counts and inventory administration. Good computer skills.

Soft Skills:

Good communication skills, service oriented and a team player. Organized and dependable with documentation and storeroom security.

Success Metrics

Stock stays within agreed levels, deliveries are correct and fully documented, every issue is backed by a requisition, stock counts reconcile, and the storeroom remains secure and orderly.
