Position Highlights

Speedboat Driver. As a proactive and safety-conscious maritime professional, your core purpose is to safely navigate and operate our commercial speedboats for various aquatic activities and guest excursions. You serve as the captain of the guest experience on the water, ensuring that vessels are meticulously prepared, safety briefings are delivered with clarity, and every passenger enjoys a secure, professional, and memorable ride. This role is essential for maintaining the operational stability, marine safety, and high service standards expected from a leader in Aruban watersports.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate commercial speedboats for guest excursions, water sports towing, and coastal tours
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vessel inspections, including engine checks, fuel levels, and safety equipment verification
• Deliver clear and comprehensive safety briefings to all passengers prior to boarding and departure
• Assist guests with safe embarking and disembarking, providing physical support and guidance as needed
• Monitor passenger activity and ocean conditions continuously to ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and maritime regulations
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic presentation of the vessel throughout the day
• Document and report any mechanical issues, equipment wear, or preventive maintenance needs to the operations manager promptly
• Collaborate with the beach and dispatch teams to ensure seamless scheduling and on-time guest transitions

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Valid Aruban commercial boat captain’s license (or equivalent recognized maritime qualification) for small passenger vessels. Excellent swimming skills and a high level of comfort working in dynamic marine environments. Strong physical stamina for managing maritime equipment and assisting passengers. Fluent communication skills in English, Dutch, and Spanish. Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends and public holidays, with availability for after-hours operational support if required. Valid First Aid and CPR certifications are required.

Core Skills:

Commercial speedboat operation, coastal navigation, and marine weather assessment. Basic marine engine troubleshooting, refueling protocols, and vessel upkeep. Deep familiarity with local maritime traffic rules and No Boating Zones.

Soft Skills:

A proactive, guest-centric approach characterized by quiet authority. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a calm, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude during high-energy situations.
