Position Highlights

HR Assistant Manager. Serving as second-in-command within the Human Resources Department, you will support the HR Manager in directing daily HR operations, employee relations, talent acquisition, and compliance with Aruba labor legislation. In this dynamic leadership role, you will champion employee engagement, guide HR team members, and spearhead digital HR innovation and process automation to elevate the overall employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the HR Manager in overseeing daily departmental operations and act as second-in-command, stepping in during the HR Manager’s absence
• Coordinate full lifecycle recruitment, orientation, onboarding, and offboarding procedures across all resort departments
• Support payroll administration, time and attendance tracking, HRIS platforms, and digital employee record management
• Advise management and team members on HR policies, internal procedures, and applicable Aruba labor legislation
• Manage employee relations, workplace conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and staff concerns with high discretion
• Coordinate performance evaluation cycles, employee development initiatives, and staff recognition programs
• Lead employee engagement activities, wellness programs, internal communications, and employer-branding efforts using Canva and social media
• Provide guidance, daily coaching, and task oversight to HR team members to ensure timely execution of departmental objectives
• Prepare comprehensive HR reports, analyze workforce metrics, and recommend strategic operational enhancements
• Drive digital HR transformation by introducing AI tools, technology, and process automation to optimize departmental efficiency
• Lead assigned HR projects while ensuring all documentation remains strictly compliant with legal and audit standards

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Certification in Aruba labor law or a specialized HR discipline is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of professional Human Resources experience, with previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred. Hospitality industry experience is considered an asset. Must be fully fluent in English, Dutch, Papiamento, and Spanish (written and spoken).

Core Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Aruba Labor Law, employment legislation, and modern HR best practices. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, HRIS platforms, Payroll Pro, and time/attendance systems. Skilled in using Canva and digital platforms for employer branding and internal communications. Tech-savvy with a strong interest in AI tools, digital automation, and HR technology integration. Strong analytical, reporting, and project management capabilities.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal communication skills. High level of confidentiality, professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail when handling sensitive employee information. Open-minded, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement. Excellent conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.

Daily HR operations, onboarding, and payroll administrative tasks are executed with exceptional accuracy and legal compliance.
