Position Highlights
Housekeeping Assistant Manager. In this pivotal leadership role, you serve as a guiding force for our dedicated housekeeping team. Your core purpose is to supervise daily operations across room attendants, housemen, and laundry staff with quiet authority. By maintaining immaculate standards of cleanliness and championing our sustainability initiatives, you ensure every guest enjoys a comfortable and seamless stay, contributing directly to the operational stability of our boutique resort.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and support Room Attendants, Housemen, and Laundry Attendants in their daily tasks.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Assist with staff scheduling, daily assignments, and conducting constructive performance evaluations.
- Collaborate directly with the Maintenance team to coordinate and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
- Oversee supply inventory and ensure the efficient, sustainable use of resort resources.
- Support guest service by responding promptly to requests and thoughtfully resolving housekeeping concerns.
- Promote and enforce environmental and sustainability practices throughout daily operations.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping within a hotel or resort environment. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by continuous hospitality operations.
Core Skills:
Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, or Papiamento is considered a strong asset. Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
Soft Skills:
The ability to lead, motivate, and train a diverse, multicultural team with empathy, respect, and professional reliability. A meticulous attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
Success Metrics
Excellence in this role is demonstrated by consistently high inspection scores for guest rooms and public areas. Success is measured by the efficient coordination of staff schedules, effective inventory management, and a seamless collaborative relationship with the maintenance department.
