Position Highlights
Accounting Clerk/General Cashier. Supporting the Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controller, your core purpose is to keep cash and accounting records accurate and up to date. You will handle cash transactions and deposits, post and reconcile entries and ledgers, reconcile expenditure reports, prepare the daily flash report and assist with financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cash and cash-related transactions, issue receipts, record money lists and balance the cash fund
- Enter cash transactions in ledgers, reconcile cash reports and prepare bank deposits
- Prepare routine entries, post financial transactions, and reconcile entries and internal ledgers
- Reconcile expenditure reports, and distribute and file financial documents and reports
- Assist in preparing financial statements such as billings, budgets and cost reports
- Prepare the daily flash report and complete daily accounting clerk and general cashier tasks
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Financial Controller and/or Assistant Financial Controller
- Be familiar with the property's fire and emergency program
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
EPI administration diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.
Core Skills:
Knowledge of cash management procedures. Knowledge of accounts payable procedures. Ledger posting and reconciliation. Good computer skills.
Soft Skills:
Meticulous and detail oriented. Good communication skills.
Success Metrics
Cash balances and deposits are always correct, entries and ledgers reconcile, the daily flash report is accurate and on time, and financial documents are properly filed.
