Hostess

Responsibilities

• Check table set up before meal period
• Assist in resetting tables
• Check station assignments with supervisor
• Read the logbook to identify the special assignments for the day
• Check the reservations book to identify VIP’s and open times
• Take reservations using the proper telephone answering techniques
• Ensure that all menus are clean, dry and free of food stains, tears or bends
• Check the environment
• Fold napkins
• Ensure the hostess stand is clean, neat and organized
• Check with the Supervisor or Chef to learn the buffet and specials and inform on unavailable items
• Warmly and graciously greets all guests upon arrival
• Handle seatings according to procedures, in a courteous, efficient and consistent manner
• Accommodate all guest’s special needs
• Overflow handled according to procedures
• Visit all tables during service and inquire about the meal
• Monitor the service
• Check stations, stocks and order as necessary
• Assist service personnel whenever necessary
• Check house count and catering activities daily
• Any other reasonable duties as required

Requirements and Qualifications

• MAVO Highschool Diploma with 5 years of experience as Hostess or Server
• Fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch
• 25 years of age
• Great computer skills
• Has a valid Health Card
• Has a Dutch Passport or a valid work permit
