Position Highlights

Engineer. As a skilled and autonomous technical professional, your core purpose is to ensure the seamless operation of our resort’s infrastructure. You will utilize your technical abilities to solve problems, effectively maintaining everything from guest room air conditioning to overarching water and electrical systems, while delivering courteous and prompt service directly to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance calls from guests and other departments
• Perform maintenance activities across guest rooms and public areas, specifically targeting electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems 
• Understand, operate, and troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water systems
• Record all guest and back-of-the-house complaints at the engineering control desk upon receipt and inform leadership of recurring issues for permanent resolution
• Program televisions and perform general engineering-related inventory duties
• Maintain an accurate daily logbook of work completed and provide a thorough handover to the next shift
• Delegate duties effectively to Engineering supervisors and other technicians as required

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

An EPI Diploma or MAVO Diploma with 2 years of relevant experience is preferred. Must possess a Dutch passport or a valid work permit. Requires fluency in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento. Strong physical condition is mandatory for this active role.

Core Skills:

Demonstrable electrical experience and a current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering operations. Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, to manage logs and complaints.

Soft Skills:

Courteous and guest-focused problem solver. Highly autonomous with the ability to work effectively without close supervision. Clear communicator for shift handovers and team delegation.

Success Metrics

Maintenance calls and guest complaints are addressed promptly, efficiently, and to the complete satisfaction of the guest. Critical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, operates reliably with minimal downtime. Shift handovers and daily logbooks are consistently accurate, ensuring seamless departmental communication and the permanent resolution of recurring issues.
