Position Highlights

Cook Helper. In this essential culinary support role, you serve as a vital contributor to the efficiency and quality of our kitchen operations. Your core purpose is to assist the culinary team in the meticulous preparation of ingredients and the artistic presentation of dishes. By maintaining an impeccably sanitized workspace and managing product by-products effectively, you uphold the high standards of cleanliness and sustainability that define Divi Resorts.

Key Responsibilities

• Disinfect and sanitize all food preparation surfaces and kitchen equipment daily.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables to support service and cooking requirements.
• Prepare cold meats, seafood, and cold cuts according to prescribed recipes.
• Plate and garnish a variety of cold menu items, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts with professional flair.
• Conserve food items by utilizing all products and by-products to prevent operational waste.
• Maintain and clean culinary equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Ensure a high level of familiarity with the property’s fire and emergency safety programs.
• Provide proactive assistance to the culinary team during peak service hours.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Completed EPB Kitchen Certificate or basic food production training. Must possess a valid Health Card and have the legal right to work in Aruba (Dutch Passport or valid work permit). Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Core Skills:

Multilingual proficiency in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento to support team collaboration. Fundamental knowledge of food production and high-standard hygiene practices.

Soft Skills:

Reliable, energetic, and detail-oriented with a strong service-minded approach. Ability to multitask effectively within a high-energy kitchen environment.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is demonstrated through the consistent cleanliness of the food preparation areas and the accuracy of ingredient preparation. Success is measured by the efficient flow of the cold station during peak service and the effective reduction of food waste. We value the ability to maintain a collaborative and professional demeanor while supporting the broader culinary team’s objectives.
