Position Highlights
Cocktail Server. Serving guests in the resort's bars and lounges, your core purpose is to deliver drinks and food accurately, responsibly and with a warm, attentive manner. You will follow cocktail order and garnish standards, prepare coffee specialties, take and serve food orders, keep your station stocked and apply alcohol awareness guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Know and use abbreviations for liquor orders, follow the call procedure when ordering from the bartender, and follow cocktail order procedures
- Consistently follow established garnishes for cocktails
- Check table and chair positioning, the environment and work supplies, and restock as needed
- Light candles and check them throughout the night
- Take and serve food orders, clear plates and offer further service
- Check the station, prepare and serve espresso and cappuccino, and serve coffee, hot tea and iced tea following procedures
- Give follow-up service and clean as you go
- Provide responsible alcoholic beverage service, following alcohol awareness guidelines for dealing with intoxicated guests
- Be familiar with the property's fire and emergency program
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
EPB/MAVO high school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience as a restaurant server. Minimum age 21. Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento. Able to work different shifts. Must have a valid Health Card. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.
Core Skills:
Cocktail order procedures, liquor abbreviations and garnish standards. Food and coffee service, including espresso and cappuccino. Responsible alcoholic beverage service. Station set-up and restocking.
Soft Skills:
Service oriented with a pleasant personality. Strong attention to detail and a flexible approach to shifts.
Success Metrics
Orders are accurate and served promptly with the correct garnishes, stations stay stocked and clean, and alcohol is served responsibly so every guest has a pleasant, safe experience.
