Position Highlights

Assistant Financial Controller. In this essential leadership role, you serve as a key figure in our finance department, overseeing both daily accounting operations and comprehensive reporting. Your core purpose is to maintain meticulous financial records and ensure compliance, all while providing steady supervision to your team. By guiding month-end closures, managing cash flow, and training staff with quiet authority, you support the long-term financial stability of our resort operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow reports and maintain daily/weekly bank reconciliations.
• Supervise daily accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance , and respond to bank, audit (BDO), and internal financial inquiries.
• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closings, ensuring the timely completion of monthly preliminary financials and final close deadlines.
• Reconcile balance sheets monthly , review general ledger postings, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax billings and required tax filings , and conduct month-end inventory spot checks as required.
• Oversee local Sales Administration accounting support , monitor and coordinate chargeback disputes , and provide daily bank balance reporting to leadership.
• Process payroll transfers and payables in the accounting system , prepare vendor payments , and coordinate internal bank transfers to ensure sufficient funds.
• Provide operational coverage and train accounting staff and interns across Revenue, AP, AR, Payroll, and Sales systems.
• Assist with budget preparation, financial forecasting , and support the development of management and GM reports.
• Assume Financial Controller responsibilities during periods of absence and assist in maintaining internal controls and accounting policies in line with legislation.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

An HBO diploma is preferred , with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position. Candidates must have a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes , combined with good communication and computer skills. Fluency in English and Dutch is required. The ability to supervise, train, and support accounting team members across departments.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. An eagerness to learn and pursue continued professional development in finance or accounting.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the timely and highly accurate completion of financial reporting and month-end deadlines. Success is measured by the seamless operational coverage during staff absences , the effective resolution of financial discrepancies , and the continuous development of a cross-trained, high-performing accounting team.
