Position Highlights

Assistant Bartender / Barback. In this essential support role, you serve as the backbone of our bar operations. Your core purpose is to ensure the bar remains fully stocked, organized, and prepared to deliver seamless service. By managing inventory and facility cleanliness with a calm, confident, and understated professional presence, you enable our bartenders to focus on guest engagement while maintaining the high standards of the Divi brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all bar areas are consistently stocked with liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, and supplies.
• Maintain the immaculate cleanliness of the bar, including glassware, countertops, and service areas.
• Assist bartenders in preparing garnishes and replenishing ice to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Safely handle and organize inventory, ensuring all deliveries are stored correctly and promptly.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to the bar leadership team.
• Support a seamless guest experience by promptly clearing used glassware and maintaining a tidy environment.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and resort-wide security protocols.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Prior experience in a food and beverage or hospitality environment is preferred. A valid Health Card and the legal right to work in Aruba (Dutch Passport or valid work permit). Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Core Skills:

Proficiency in inventory management and beverage handling. Multilingual capabilities in English, Spanish, Dutch, or Papiamento are an asset. Fundamental knowledge of bar equipment and hygiene standards.

Soft Skills:

Physical stamina to manage heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment. Professional reliability, a hardworking mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the continuous availability of supplies during peak hours and the pristine organization of the bar area. Success is measured by your ability to anticipate the needs of the bartenders, minimizing service delays, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness that enhances the overall guest dining experience.
