The short version

  • Divi opened its first Aruba resort in July 1969; staff hired then retired in 2014 after 45 years.
  • Divi Resorts lists three Aruba properties: Divi Aruba Phoenix, Divi Village Golf & Beach and Divi Dutch Village.
  • Divi's Aruba Jobs listings also cover the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusives.
  • Listings ask for a Dutch passport or a valid work permit; kitchen, bar and storeroom roles need a health card.
  • Apply by email to recruiter@megaresorts.com or at the HR office at the Tamarijn.

In July 1969 Walter Wiggins, a New York attorney, opened a resort on Aruba and named it after the divi-divi tree. Two of his first hires, a reservations agent and a bartender at the Pelican Bar, retired 45 years later, at a 2014 party for thirteen long-serving staff. 1

Divi Resorts now has resorts on several Caribbean islands. On Aruba its website lists three: Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort, Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort and Divi Dutch Village Beach Resort. 2 The recruiting team that posts Divi jobs on Aruba Jobs also hires for the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusives. On 6 November 2026 it had 30 open and 40 filled listings on the site. 10 This article sets out what those resorts are like as workplaces, what the jobs involve and what Divi asks of applicants.

Three resorts and two all-inclusives

An all-suite resort on Palm Beach, in the high-rise area, at J.E. Irausquin Boulevard 75. 2 3 Every suite has a kitchen. The resort has two pools with a swim-up bar, the Pure Indulgence Spa, a gym, a shopping promenade and a kids’ club for ages 4 to 12. It does not sell an all-inclusive plan, so its three restaurants and bars, pureocean, purebeach and Wave Shack, plus the puredeli, serve paying guests à la carte. pureocean serves dinner on the beach with live music; purebeach runs from breakfast to an 11 p.m. bar. 3

Suites and villas around The Links at Divi Aruba, across the road from Druif Beach. 4 The Links is a nine-hole course by Litten/Viola with a clubhouse, a golf learning center and a pro shop that are open to the public; the first tee time is 7 a.m. 7 The course explains Divi’s golf listings on Aruba Jobs: golf starter, golf cart attendant, head greenkeeper and a golf shop assistant. 10 The resort’s outlets range from Windows on Aruba (Italian dinner, a Friday late-night brunch and a Sunday brunch) and BarTapas in the clubhouse to Mulligan’s, the Seabreeze Marketplace buffet, three pool and beach bars and a coffee corner. 4

Rooms and suites a few steps from Druif Beach, at J.E. Irausquin Boulevard 93, with three pools. 2 5 Its own outlets are smaller: the Tiki Grill, the Tiki Pool Bar with a swim-up bar, and the Beach Bar under the fitness center. Its all-inclusive guests eat at Divi Village Golf as well. 5

Divi Aruba All-Inclusive and Tamarijn Aruba All-Inclusive

Two oceanfront all-inclusive resorts on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, sold together as the Divi & Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusives; their main number is +297 525 5200. 8 Divi’s MEGA All-Inclusive package lets guests of Divi Village Golf and Divi Dutch Village use all four resorts: 18 restaurants, 10 bars and 12 pools, linked by a shuttle that also runs to the Alhambra Casino. 6 The Divi careers page lists no HR department for these two resorts, but Divi’s Aruba Jobs listings send walk-in applicants to the HR office at the Tamarijn, and one current listing is for their front desk. 2 10 The listings do not say which company employs staff at each resort; ask at interview if it matters to you.

Thirteen are tagged entry level, fifteen intermediate and two expert. Twenty-nine are full-time and one, the bellman, is part-time. None states a salary, so ask about pay before you accept an offer. 10

What Divi asks for

  • Papers. Every listing asks for a Dutch passport or a valid work permit. If you are not from Aruba, read how work permits work before you apply. 10
  • Languages. Of the 30 open listings, 24 ask for English, 21 for Spanish, 15 for Dutch and 12 for Papiamento. Front-of-house roles often want three or four languages; several housekeeping and stewarding roles ask for Papiamento, with some English preferred. 10
  • Health card. Kitchen, restaurant, bar and storeroom roles require a valid health card. See the health certificate guide. 10
  • Schooling. Requirements are written in Aruban school levels: EPB or MAVO for many roles, an EPI diploma for cooks and technicians, MBO or HBO preferred for some office roles. Room attendant, houseman and kitchen steward listings prefer but do not require a diploma. 10
  • Hours and other conditions. Many listings ask for availability on different shifts; the PM engineer works the PM shift. The cocktail server must be at least 21, and the storeroom clerk, bellman and warehouse driver need a driver’s license (a C license for the driver). 10

Benefits the listings name

The Divi listings on Aruba Jobs, open and filled, name these benefits for their roles: 10

  • life and disability insurance;
  • a full-attendance bonus and a year-end bonus;
  • a vacation savings plan;
  • dental and vision insurance;
  • a training allowance, named in the listings as a training and course, training and education, or learning and development allowance.

Seven listings also name mental health assistance, among them the open Engineer, A/C Technician and Assistant Financial Controller roles. 10

These are what the listings offer for their roles. Divi Resorts does not publish an employer-wide benefits statement for its Aruba staff, so they are not confirmed as an entitlement for every employee. The listings give no amounts and no eligibility conditions, such as a waiting period or whether part-time roles qualify. Those are questions for the interview.

Training and progression

The listings name a training and course allowance but do not describe a promotion policy. What they do show is the ladder inside each department: cook helper to sous chef in the kitchen, barback to assistant head bartender at the bar, night auditor to night audit supervisor, room attendant to housekeeping supervisor. The housekeeping supervisor listing, for example, asks for two years of housekeeping experience and supervisory training. 10 The 2014 retirements of staff who started in 1969 show that some people have spent their whole careers at Divi. 1

Divi Cares in Aruba

Since June 2023, Divi adds a dollar for each day of an Aruba guest’s stay to the bill for Ban Uni Man Pa Cria Nos Muchanan, a foundation that gives breakfast to local schoolchildren. The initiative started with Gerrit Griffith, a former general manager with 43 years at Divi. Divi says more than $135,000 has been donated and that it covers the administration and card fees. 9

Updated 6 November 2026: checked against Divi Resorts’ current Aruba pages and all 70 Divi listings on Aruba Jobs. The two all-inclusives are now described as resorts Divi recruits for, not as Divi Resorts properties, because Divi’s own careers page does not list them; restaurant attributions, the beach locations and the job counts were corrected.
