Position Highlights
Host/Hostess (AM/PM). As the first point of contact for Elements Restaurant, you serve as the warm welcome and the final fond farewell for our guests. Your core purpose is to set a professional tone for the dining experience by managing guest flow and reservations with quiet authority. By coordinating seating and responding to requests with an understated, optimistic presence, you ensure that every visit reflects the world-class standards of the Bucuti & Tara brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for guests, providing a professional and welcoming introduction to the dining environment.
- Manage internal and external reservation systems with precision to ensure efficient guest seating.
- Proactively re-confirm reservations via email, phone, or in-person to maximize restaurant revenue and operational flow.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring all needs are met with a solution-oriented approach.
- Coordinate closely with the service team to maintain a seamless transition from the host stand to the table.
- Adhere to all resort-wide sustainability and hygiene protocols, maintaining an immaculate reception area.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED; an Associate degree is a plus. Previous experience in a similar hospitality or customer service role involving administrative duties. A valid Health Certificate and flexibility to work rotating shifts (AM/PM), including weekends and holidays.
Core Skills:
Proficiency in restaurant reservation software and general tech-savvy for administrative tasks. Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in additional European languages like Italian or German is an asset.
Soft Skills:
A high-energy, friendly, and outgoing personality. Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively. Professional reliability and a proactive, patient approach to guest service.
Success Metrics
Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the efficient management of the dining room floor and positive guest feedback regarding the arrival and departure experience. Success is measured by the accuracy of reservation data, the speed and grace of guest seating, and your ability to contribute to positive online reviews through exceptional interpersonal interactions.
