Position Highlights

Sustainability Intern. As an eager and detail-oriented intern, your core purpose is to support the daily work of our Sustainability team. You will gain practical, hands-on experience by contributing to environmental projects, supporting certification processes, and driving positive environmental change within a premier sustainable hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support EarthCheck certification activities and promote sustainable hospitality practices
• Assist with data collection, environmental reporting, and sustainability metrics analysis
• Contribute actively to waste, energy, and water reduction initiatives across the resort
• Help run employee engagement programs and sustainability awareness campaigns
• Support sustainable event planning and local community initiatives

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Must be currently pursuing or hold an MBO or HBO education in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business, or a related field. Eager to learn and contribute to practical sustainability initiatives.

Core Skills:

Computer and technology savvy with a strong foundation in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Strong communication skills in English are required, while knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, and/or Papiamento is considered a distinct advantage.

Soft Skills:

A genuine passion for sustainability and responsible tourism. A creative thinker with strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple ongoing environmental projects.

Success Metrics

Sustainability data and EarthCheck metrics are accurately collected, analyzed, and reported. Waste and energy reduction initiatives are effectively supported across various resort departments. Employee engagement and community campaigns are successfully executed, raising awareness of our environmental goals.
