Position Highlights

Hostess. As the primary ambassador for our culinary outlets, your core purpose is to provide the critical first impression of our guest’s dining experience. You serve as the orchestrator of the dining room, combining professional poise with administrative precision to manage reservations and seating flow. By welcoming guests with quiet authority and warmth, you set the stage for the high-standard service that defines the Divi Resorts experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests with genuine warmth and professional courtesy upon arrival.
• Manage reservation systems efficiently, ensuring accurate booking and seating assignments.
• Coordinate the flow of the dining room by seating guests in a balanced manner to support the service team.
• Provide accurate information regarding menu offerings, resort facilities, and special dietary accommodations.
• Handle incoming phone calls and reservation inquiries with a solution-oriented and helpful demeanor.
• Maintain the pristine appearance of the restaurant entrance and host station.
• Monitor guest wait times and provide updates with professional patience and grace.
• Collaborate closely with restaurant management and kitchen teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Previous experience in a hostess or guest-facing role within a high-standard hospitality environment is preferred. Must hold a Dutch passport or a valid work permit.

Core Skills:

Full fluency in English and Papiamento; proficiency in Spanish or Dutch is a significant asset. Familiarity with restaurant reservation software and general administrative tech-savviness.

Soft Skills:

A high-energy, friendly, and outgoing personality. Strong organizational precision and the ability to maintain a calm, professional presence during peak hours.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is defined by consistently high guest satisfaction scores regarding the arrival and seating experience. Success is demonstrated through the efficient management of table turnover, the accuracy of reservation data, and achieving seamless communication between the host station and the service team.
