Position Highlights

As the Sustainability Manager at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, you will take ownership of the resort’s comprehensive environmental initiatives and certifications. In this essential leadership role, you will guide the implementation of eco-friendly practices across all departments, ensuring the property maintains its carbon-neutral status and continues to innovate in sustainable tourism.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all resort sustainability programs and environmental certifications
• Monitor and report on energy consumption, waste management, and water conservation efforts
• Collaborate with department heads to implement eco-friendly operational procedures
• Manage the annual carbon footprint audit and maintain carbon-neutral compliance
• Educate and train staff on sustainability protocols and best practices
• Engage with guests and the local community to promote environmental awareness and conservation

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Hospitality Management, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in sustainability management, preferably within the hospitality sector. Candidates must possess a deep understanding of environmental certifications such as Green Globe, LEED, or Travelife. A valid work permit for Aruba or a Dutch passport is essential.

Core Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of carbon footprint calculation, waste reduction strategies, and sustainable resource management. Proficiency in data analysis, environmental reporting, and project management. Strong ability to audit operational practices and implement effective, eco-friendly technological solutions.

Soft Skills

A profound passion for environmental conservation and responsible tourism. Must be a highly organized, analytical, and articulate communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset capable of leading cross-departmental initiatives.
