Position Highlights

Loss Prevention Officer. As a vigilant and responsive security professional, your core purpose is to ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, and property. You will actively patrol the premises, monitor surveillance equipment, and respond calmly to emergencies across all three regular shifts, including night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, grounds, and access points to ensure protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism
• Monitor surveillance equipment, control entries, and ensure no unauthorized people use resort facilities
• Log, investigate, and accurately write up reports for all incidents, accidents, and alarm calls
• Intervene calmly to resolve guest issues and conduct post-incident follow-up calls to provide assistance and care
• Operate room locks and safes, including opening doors and changing batteries when necessary
• Control emergency stations and First Aid boxes weekly, and assist an authorized inspector with monthly fire extinguisher checks
• Conduct daily employee bag checks while maintaining strict company confidentiality
• Adhere to all safety and Green policies, including reduce, re-use, recycle, and restore initiatives

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

An EPB education or higher is required, alongside a minimum of 3 years of experience in the security business. Must be available to work all three regular shifts, including the night shift. Requires First Aid, CPR, fire training, and basic self-defense training. Must be physically fit, able to stand or walk for long periods, and capable of restraining people if required.

Core Skills:

Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento. Basic computer skills are required, including proficiency with CCTV camera playback and Windows media player. Knowledge of alarm systems and proper two-way radio communication procedures is essential.

Soft Skills:

Friendly, helpful, and a good communicator who applies active listening techniques. Able to work independently, react calmly and effectively in highly stressful or emergency situations, and exercise independent judgment.

Success Metrics

Incidents, accidents, and safety violations are accurately investigated, logged, and reported. Emergency and security equipment, including First Aid boxes and fire extinguishers, are consistently monitored and maintained. A safe, secure, and strictly controlled environment is upheld for all guests and staff.
