Position Highlights
Engineering Supervisor. Supporting the Chief Engineer, your core purpose is to keep the resort's guestrooms, public areas and F&B outlets in immaculate condition. In this hands-on supervisory role, you will plan, execute and supervise daily maintenance and larger projects, lead the engineering technicians and coordinate external contractors so work is completed safely, efficiently and to Bucuti & Tara's standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer in planning, executing and supervising daily maintenance activities and larger projects
- Directly supervise the resort's engineering technicians
- Coordinate closely with external contractors to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality work
- Keep guestrooms, public areas and Food & Beverage outlets in immaculate condition
- Train, coach, motivate and, when necessary, discipline the technician team
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar supervisory role in hotel operations. Proven experience in one or more trades: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and/or plumbing. Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred. Proficiency in English; Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish are a plus. Flexible to work AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays. Pre-employment drug screening applies.
Core Skills:
Technical trade knowledge in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry or plumbing. Practical understanding of resort engineering operations. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication at all levels, high attention to detail and strong organization. Solution-oriented, proactive and guest-focused, working independently and in a team and performing well under pressure.
Success Metrics
Maintenance and projects are completed safely, on time and to standard, technicians are well supervised and developed, contractors deliver as agreed, and the resort stays in immaculate condition.
