Position Highlights
Engineering Supervisor. In this hands-on leadership role, you serve as a vital guardian of our resort’s immaculate condition. Your core purpose is to support the Chief Engineer in planning and executing daily maintenance activities while directly supervising our team of technicians. You will ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and dining outlets operate with technical precision, maintaining the high standards of luxury and sustainability that define the Bucuti & Tara experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coach the resort’s engineering technicians to ensure daily tasks are completed with high attention to detail.
- Coordinate closely with external contractors to ensure specialized projects are executed safely and efficiently.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs across various trades, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in planning preventive maintenance schedules and managing larger facility projects.
- Monitor and maintain the functional integrity of guest rooms, public spaces, and food and beverage outlets.
- Utilize property management and maintenance software to track work orders and daily operations.
- Foster a collaborative and professional team environment through proactive leadership and mentoring.
- Ensure all engineering activities strictly adhere to resort safety standards and environmental protocols.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within hotel operations. A degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred. Full fluency in English; knowledge of Papiamento, Dutch, or Spanish is highly valued for local operations and coordination.
Core Skills:
HVAC maintenance, electrical system troubleshooting, plumbing and carpentry, project coordination, and technical reporting via Microsoft Office.
Soft Skills:
Solution-oriented mindset, proactive leadership and coaching ability, and a guest-focused approach to communication.
Success Metrics
Demonstrated consistency in the timely and high-quality completion of maintenance work orders. Sustained uptime and efficiency of critical resort systems through rigorous preventive maintenance. Positive feedback regarding team engagement and the seamless coordination of external contractor projects.
