Position Highlights

1st Cook. As a passionate culinary professional, your core purpose is to prepare and present a diverse range of high-quality dishes that elevate our guests’ dining experience. You will manage daily food production schedules, perform precise cooking techniques, and maintain rigorous cleanliness and inventory standards within a dynamic resort kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive food ingredients and supplies from the main kitchen and pantry as required for daily operations
• Review production schedules to determine food requirements, including variety and quantity needed
• Prepare and season a wide range of foods, including vegetables, fruits, meats, soups, salads, and cereals, following prescribed recipes
• Perform various cooking techniques, including slicing, grinding, and cooking meats and vegetables
• Carve and display meats, vegetables, fruits, and salads attractively for service
• Maintain and record inventory, request stock, and accurately estimate daily and weekly supply needs
• Ensure the strict cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

An EPI Culinary Diploma or equivalent is required, along with 2 years of experience in a similar position. Candidates must possess a Dutch Passport or a valid work permit, as well as a valid Health Card. The flexibility to work different shifts is essential to support kitchen operations.

Core Skills:

The ability to understand and speak both English and Spanish is required. A strong, demonstrated knowledge of how to strictly follow food safety and HACCP guidelines is essential.

Soft Skills:

Passionate about the culinary field with a highly organized approach to daily kitchen operations. A reliable team player who consistently maintains high standards during varied shifts.

Success Metrics

Daily production schedules are met efficiently, and a wide variety of foods are prepared accurately according to prescribed recipes. Food displays are presented attractively for service, while work areas consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness in strict adherence to food safety and HACCP guidelines.
