Position Highlights

HVAC Technician. Operating within our maintenance and engineering division, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing climate control and ventilation equipment across guest suites, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. In this vital technical role, you will diagnose equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure a comfortable, safe environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems throughout the resort
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and airflow issues across various cooling and ventilation units
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programs to ensure peak system efficiency and extend equipment lifecycles
• Respond promptly to daily maintenance tickets and emergency repair requests from guest rooms and operational departments
• Comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and proper refrigerant handling practices during all service tasks
• Document completed work orders, update maintenance logs, and maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools
• Support a safe, quiet, and comfortable climate-controlled environment for resort guests and team members

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

High School diploma (EPB, MAVO, HAVO, or technical vocational equivalent in HVAC/Refrigeration preferred). Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in HVAC troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance, preferably within a commercial or hospitality environment. Professional fluency in English, Papiamento, and Spanish (written and spoken) is required. Must hold valid legal authorization to work in Aruba.

Core Skills:

Proven technical knowledge of commercial and residential HVAC systems, split units, air handlers, and refrigeration equipment. Skilled in reading technical schematics, diagnosing electrical controls, and utilizing specialized HVAC diagnostic tools. Practical understanding of preventive maintenance routines and workplace safety compliance.

Soft Skills:

Dependable, safety-minded, and solution-oriented self-starter. Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities with high attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with guests and department team members.

Success Metrics

HVAC and cooling equipment operate at optimal efficiency with minimal unexpected system downtime. Maintenance tickets and guest room climate calls are resolved quickly and effectively on the first response. Preventive maintenance schedules and safety documentation are consistently maintained to resort standards.
