Position Highlights

Waiter. In this senior guest-facing role, you serve as the face of our restaurant and a primary ambassador of Aruban hospitality. Your core purpose is to elevate the dining experience through personalized service and professional expertise, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the high standards of Amsterdam Manor. Beyond service, you play a vital role in mentoring junior team members and maintaining the “quiet authority” required for seamless, upscale dining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, proactive, and personalized table service to all resort guests.
• Guide and mentor junior serving staff by modeling exemplary hospitality and service standards.
• Anticipate guest needs and preferences to deliver a seamless and elevated dining experience.
• Accurately process food and beverage orders using the ALOHA POS system.
• Maintain a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of menu ingredients, daily specials, and wine pairings.
• Execute flawless table setups and maintain dining room organization throughout the shift.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve service issues with professional grace and a solution-oriented mindset.
• Collaborate closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure a consistent flow of service.
• Process payments securely and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Uphold rigorous cleanliness and sanitation standards within all dining areas.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

High School diploma complemented by a Hospitality Training certification. A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in upscale restaurant service. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by resort operations.

Core Skills:

Full fluency in English, Spanish, and Papiamento to connect with our international and local clientele. Proficiency with the ALOHA POS system or similar restaurant management software.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional multitasking abilities in high-volume settings. A strong team-player mentality with natural mentoring and leadership capabilities. Impeccable grooming and professional composure.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is defined by consistently high guest satisfaction scores and positive feedback regarding service quality. Success is demonstrated through the accurate management of orders and payments via the POS system and the successful professional development of mentored junior staff.
