Position Highlights

Electrical / Mechanical Specialist. In this vital technical role, you serve as a key guardian of our resort’s infrastructure. Your core purpose is to ensure that all guest rooms and facilities remain fully operational, safe, and efficient. By managing complex repairs and preventative maintenance with a calm, confident, and understated professional presence, you support the seamless flow of resort operations and contribute directly to the comfort and satisfaction of our international guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend to and perform repairs on all guest complaints and departmental requests involving electrical systems, mechanical wiring, and lighting.
• Execute precise troubleshooting tasks when encountering complex technical situations to ensure rapid resolution.
• Install, replace, and test electrical circuits, kitchen appliances, and mechanical equipment using appropriate tools and instruments.
• Maintain all departmental tools, work spaces, and equipment in excellent condition to ensure safety and readiness.
• Adhere strictly to local electrical codes, ordinances, and resort-wide safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering team to support daily operational maintenance across the property.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

EPI Diploma or equivalent technical qualification. A minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a similar electrical or mechanical role. Strong physical condition to manage the active nature of resort maintenance. Must possess a Dutch Passport or a valid work permit for Aruba.

Core Skills:

Advanced knowledge of electrical codes, ordinances, and the operation of electrical/mechanical motors and equipment. Proficiency in using testing instruments and professional repair tools. Multilingual capabilities in English, Dutch, and Spanish.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset. Professional reliability and the ability to work effectively within a structured team environment.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the rapid and accurate resolution of guest maintenance requests and the consistent reliability of the resort’s electrical and mechanical systems. Success is measured by adherence to safety standards, the meticulous maintenance of tools and workspaces, and the ability to prevent operational downtime through proactive troubleshooting.
