Position Highlights

Security & Loss Prevention Manager. In this critical leadership role, you direct the day-to-day operations of the Loss Prevention department, encompassing patrols, surveillance, emergency response, incident investigation, and risk mitigation. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you provide the quiet authority needed to lead a team of officers and contracted personnel while maintaining a culture of vigilance and exceptional guest service. You also serve as the primary liaison with local authorities, emergency services, and the resort’s crisis management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Loss Prevention team and contracted security personnel, managing patrols, shift handovers, and the departmental budget.
• Conduct ongoing hazard and risk assessments, maintain emergency manuals in line with ISO 14001, and develop detailed lockdown and shutdown procedures.
• Oversee the CCTV/IP video-surveillance and electronic locking systems (e.g., Dormakaba / RFID), ensuring strict compliance with AVG/GDPR privacy laws.
• Lead investigations into claims of loss, theft, fraud, or harassment, meticulously documenting findings and preserving evidence.
• Coordinate responses to medical emergencies, serious injuries, and fatalities, while leading and training the core emergency-response group.
• Manage the inventory and inspection of fire extinguishers, fire-suppression systems, AEDs, and first-aid stations.
• Partner with the IT department to support physical and information-security controls, promoting strong cybersecurity hygiene.
• Monitor publicly available channels and support crisis communication during incidents that may attract media or social media attention.
• Adhere to the resort’s environmental sustainability policies by ensuring materials are reduced, reused, recycled, and restored.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role within security, loss prevention, or law enforcement is required, preferably in a hospitality environment. Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be available for shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call rotations.

Core Skills:

Proficient with modern security platforms, IP-based CCTV, access-control software, and Microsoft 365. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English; working proficiency in Papiamento, Dutch, and Spanish is strongly preferred. Preferred certifications include First Aid/CPR/AED instructor, fire-safety, or recognized security qualifications like CPP, PSP, or CFE.

A friendly, approachable, and service-oriented professional who can communicate clearly and calmly under pressure. Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information and possesses the physical stamina required to patrol, climb stairs, and intervene when lawful.

Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the ability to implement effective controls that identify and mitigate operational risks. Success is measured by the timely preparation of daily incident reports, strict adherence to occupational health and safety legislation, and the cultivation of a respectful, high-performing team capable of making sound decisions in high-pressure scenarios.
