The Information Technology department builds and maintains the resort’s IT infrastructure and computer systems to ensure seamless operational flow and keep pace with technological advancements across the organization.

Position Highlights

IT Engineer. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT support and technical assistance across all resort departments. In this hands-on role, you will maintain computer hardware, network switches, and access points, administer Active Directory and Microsoft 365, and perform routine system patching and backup verifications to ensure stable, secure system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for end-user IT support and technical consultations across the resort
• Install, configure, maintain, and repair IT hardware, including desktop computers, printers, network switches, and access points
• Deploy, update, and configure software applications, executing monthly vulnerability patching routines
• Monitor system alerts and verify the daily success of data backups to ensure business continuity
• Perform user administration and permission settings in Active Directory (AD) and Microsoft 365
• Log support tickets and record infrastructure changes accurately within the CMDB
• Strictly adhere to information security control policies and report any security incidents immediately
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent technical requests outside regular office hours
• Comply with resort Green policies (reduce, re-use, recycle, restore) and maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance wearing the required uniform and badge

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

MBO diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. 1 to 2 years of professional experience in a similar IT support or technician position. Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English or Spanish, with Dutch and Papiamento language skills being preferred. Physical ability to sit, kneel, squat, and perform hardware installations requiring good eye-hand coordination. Flexibility to handle urgent off-hours requests on an on-call basis.

Core Skills:

Troubleshooting hardware and software issues on Windows operating systems. Hands-on experience connecting and configuring computers, printers, and network cabling. Technical knowledge of Active Directory administration, Microsoft 365, and basic network infrastructure (switches and wireless access points). Vulnerability patching, backup management, and CMDB ticket administration.

Soft Skills:

Motivated self-starter with a positive, professional, and service-oriented attitude. High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to perform reliably under pressure. Eager to learn new concepts, adapt from constructive feedback, and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Success Metrics

Daily support tickets are resolved efficiently with accurate tracking in the CMDB. High system availability across resort hardware, wireless access points, and software applications. On-time execution of monthly software patching routines and 100% verification of daily data backups.
