Position Highlights
Maintenance Technician. In this essential hands-on role, you provide the critical proactive and reactive facility care required to keep our resort in immaculate condition. Your core purpose is to apply your technical expertise to maintain guest rooms, public spaces, and food and beverage areas with professional reliability and “quiet authority.” By ensuring our property functions seamlessly, you contribute directly to the comfort, safety, and renowned guest experience of our award-winning destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and dining facilities.
- Execute preventative and reactive technical care involving HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing systems.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the resort’s specific maintenance requirements and operational standards.
- Respond to facility work orders efficiently, resolving issues with a solution-oriented and customer-focused approach.
- Coordinate seamlessly with the broader engineering and maintenance team to ensure the continuous operation of all physical assets.
- Adhere strictly to all resort safety, health, and sustainability protocols within our CarbonNeutral environment.
- Utilize internal technology systems to manage tasks, log repairs, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Degree in Maintenance, Engineering, or a relevant technical field. Prior relevant work experience in maintenance is required; experience within hotel operations and customer service is a distinct advantage. Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Core Skills:
Comprehensive technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing systems. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of Papiamento, Dutch, and Spanish is a plus. Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate maintenance software effectively.
Soft Skills:
A proactive problem-solver with a polite, patient, and confident demeanor. Exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform reliably under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Success Metrics
Excellence in this role is demonstrated by the timely and accurate resolution of maintenance work orders and a reduction in recurring facility issues. Success is measured by consistently positive guest feedback related to room comfort and facility operations, as well as the ability to maintain a calm, professional presence when interacting with guests and team members.
