Position Highlights

Hostess. As the primary ambassador for our culinary outlets, including the renowned Passions on the Beach, your core purpose is to provide the critical first impression of our guest’s dining experience. You serve as the orchestrator of the dining room, combining professional poise with administrative precision to manage reservations and seating flow. By welcoming guests with “quiet authority” and warmth, you set the stage for the high-standard service that defines Amsterdam Manor.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests with genuine warmth and professionalism upon arrival.
• Manage the reservation system efficiently, ensuring accurate booking and seating assignments.
• Coordinate the flow of the dining room by seating guests in a balanced manner to support the waitstaff.
• Provide accurate information regarding menu offerings, resort facilities, and special dietary accommodations.
• Handle incoming phone calls and reservation inquiries with a solution-oriented and helpful demeanor.
• Maintain the pristine appearance of the restaurant entrance and host station.
• Monitor guest wait times and provide updates with professional patience and grace.
• Collaborate closely with restaurant management and service teams to ensure a seamless overall guest experience.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Previous experience in a hostess or guest-facing role within a high-standard hospitality environment is preferred. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move comfortably within a beachfront setting. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Core Skills:

Full fluency in English, Spanish, and Papiamento; knowledge of Dutch is a significant asset. Proficiency with reservation management software (e.g., OpenTable). Strong verbal communication and organizational skills.

Soft Skills:

Naturally outgoing and friendly personality. Professional composure under operational pressure and a proactive mindset.

Success Metrics

Excellence in this role is defined by consistently high guest satisfaction scores regarding the arrival and seating experience. Success is demonstrated through the efficient management of table turnover and the achievement of seamless communication between the host station and the service team.
