Position Highlights
Chef de Partie. As a vital leader within our culinary team, you take full ownership of a specific section of the kitchen. Your core purpose is to ensure that every dish leaving your station meets our exacting standards of quality, flavor, and presentation, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining a seamless operational flow during high-pressure service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of a designated culinary station, ensuring peak efficiency and organization.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes according to established resort recipes and presentation standards.
- Supervise and mentor Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and professional learning environment.
- Maintain rigorous food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP and local health regulations.
- Monitor station inventory and minimize food waste through precise prep management and stock rotation.
- Coordinate closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to refine menu offerings and ensure consistent guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the reception and storage of culinary supplies, ensuring all products meet resort quality specifications.
Requirements, Skills & Traits
Requirements:
Degree or diploma from a recognized culinary school. Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in a high-volume, professional kitchen environment. Full fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, or Papiamento is an asset. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Core Skills:
Mastery of professional cooking techniques, station management, and knife skills. Comprehensive knowledge of food safety (HACCP) protocols and inventory control.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to maintain composure and quality in a fast-paced environment.
Success Metrics
Demonstrated consistency in food quality and plating aesthetics for all station outputs. Maintained food cost targets through effective waste management and portion control. Positive feedback from the Executive Chef regarding station leadership and team development. Consistent adherence to all health and safety audit requirements.
