Position Highlights

Assistant Financial Controller. As an organized and analytical leader within our accounting department, your core purpose is to oversee daily financial operations and ensure the fiscal integrity of our boutique resort. You serve as a vital co-responsible figure in managing administration, evaluating financial risks, and providing the data-driven insights necessary for stable, high-level decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the daily rhythm of financial operations and accounting processes.
• Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded, documented, and reported with precision.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for leadership review.
• Monitor and control departmental expenses and budgets to support resort-wide fiscal health.
• Ensure strict compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and accounting procedures.
• Evaluate and manage internal controls and financial risks to protect resort assets.
• Coordinate and mentor the activities of the accounting department team members.
• Maintain the absolute accuracy and integrity of all financial data and reporting systems.
• Lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits and financial reviews.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related professional field. A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally within the hospitality industry or a similar high-volume sector. Full fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, or Papiamento is an asset.

Core Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Payroll Pro and Property Management Systems (PMS). Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and risk evaluation.

Soft Skills:

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a detail-oriented mindset. A professional, confident communicator capable of working independently and leading a team with quiet authority.

Demonstrated consistency in the timely and accurate delivery of financial reporting packages. Maintained high standards of internal control compliance and positive audit outcomes. Effective coordination of the accounting team, resulting in streamlined and efficient financial workflows.
