Position Highlights

Housekeeping Manager. In this senior leadership role, your core purpose is to direct the strategic and daily operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. You serve as a critical guardian of the resort’s aesthetic standards and fiscal health, overseeing everything from guest room pristine quality to purchasing and cost control. You provide the “quiet authority” and organized leadership necessary to maintain operational excellence in a high-occupancy resort environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the comprehensive operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments to ensure boutique-level standards.
• Oversee purchasing activities and implement rigorous cost control measures for supplies, linens, and equipment.
• Develop and maintain organized departmental workflows, prioritizing tasks and multi-tasking effectively during peak periods.
• Identify operational problems and implement decisive, long-term solutions with consistent follow-up.
• Direct the “friendly crew” through clear communication, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
• Ensure all guest rooms and public areas strictly adhere to resort quality protocols and the Aruba Health & Happiness Code.
• Utilize computer systems to manage scheduling, inventory tracking, and departmental reporting.
• Partner with senior resort leadership to align housekeeping goals with the overall guest experience strategy.

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar management or senior supervisory position within the hospitality industry. Must possess strong physical stamina and the flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Core Skills:

Advanced knowledge of Housekeeping operations, management principles, and financial cost control. Full fluency in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento is required for effective leadership and local coordination. Proficiency in standard office computer applications.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Highly organized with a strong ability to solve problems, follow up on details, and remain calm under operational pressure.

Success Metrics

Demonstrated departmental adherence to annual budgets and cost-saving initiatives. Consistently high cleanliness and guest satisfaction scores across all resort accommodations. Successful mentorship and retention of the housekeeping team through proactive leadership and clear communication.
