Internship / Stage · In Aruba
Turn your studies into experience.
Start with what your school needs, find a host who can give it to you, agree it in writing, and leave with evidence.
-
Bring your school's brief
Know your programme, the period and hours you must complete, the learning goals and how you are assessed. Your school decides whether a placement fits; a host's offer is not school approval.
-
Find a recognised host
Vocational work placements (BPV) are carried out at a learning company recognised by PEL (Platform Education & Labor). Colegio EPI asks every company that takes one of its students to be registered with its Stagebureau as an erkend leerbedrijf. Ask your school for its list, then look for internship listings here and approach employers directly.

-
Agree it in writing
In vocational education the agreement is the beroepspraktijkovereenkomst (BPO). DEA's policy lists the BPV agreement and insurance among the tasks of the school's BPV office. Ask the host who will supervise you, what you will do, your hours and whether there is an allowance. Do not assume housing or pay.

-
Collect evidence as you go
Keep examples of your work, feedback and the skills you practised, with permission where needed. They are what turns a placement into a line on your CV.
-
Turn it into a profile and a skill level
Describe what you did, how independently you did it and what you learned. Then see which skills it supports and at which level.

Employers can list one using the Internship job type. Until then, your school's own placement office is the best place to look.
