Position Highlights

Assistant Security Manager. Operating within the Loss Prevention Department and reporting directly to the Department Manager, this leadership role supports the Security Manager in organizing, supervising, and executing daily security operations across Casa del Mar Beach Resort. You will maintain a secure and peaceful resort environment for members, guests, employees, and property, coordinate emergency response procedures, and provide direct operational leadership to both the security team and pool and beach personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Security Manager in planning, supervising, and executing day-to-day loss prevention and security workflows across the property
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all resort members, visitors, team members, and physical assets
Provide daily leadership, operational supervision, and guidance to the security team and pool & beach employees
Oversee and participate in rapid emergency response procedures, safety interventions, and medical or fire incidents
Conduct routine security patrols of the resort grounds, perimeter, facilities, and beach areas to proactively identify and resolve hazards
Ensure strict and consistent compliance with established company security policies, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations
Train on-site security personnel on operational protocols, conducting regular refresher courses and corrective training sessions as needed
Operate and monitor fire/life safety technology, access controls, and security management applications
Maintain detailed administrative documentation and prepare comprehensive, accurate incident and shift reports
Communicate clearly and rapidly over two-way radio channels to coordinate immediate security and operational responses
Manage guest and employee safety concerns with professional composure, discretion, and quiet authority

Requirements, Skills & Traits

Requirements:

High school diploma required; an associate degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience in security or loss prevention, with prior experience in the hospitality or resort sector strongly preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; conversational proficiency in Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento is an asset. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet and email applications, and the ability to operate multiple software programs simultaneously. Working knowledge of fire and life safety security technology. Physically capable of walking continuous patrols, responding swiftly to emergencies, and supporting operational demands. Flexibility to work variable schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Must hold valid legal authorization to work in Aruba.

Core Skills:

Loss prevention supervision, team leadership, and emergency response management. Professional report writing, administrative record-keeping, and incident investigation. Fire/life safety equipment operation and fast, articulate two-way radio dispatch communication. On-the-job security training delivery and standard operating procedure enforcement.

Soft Skills:

High professional integrity, sound judgment, and confidentiality when handling sensitive situations. Strong customer service orientation with a calm, approachable presence. Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt effectively to diverse personalities and circumstances.

Success Metrics

Daily security operations and patrols are executed consistently with zero lapses in procedure adherence. Shift documentation and incident investigation reports are completed promptly, thoroughly, and accurately. Rapid, coordinated response to on-site emergencies and guest concerns. Security guards and pool/beach personnel are effectively trained, mentored, and supported on duty.
