Step-by-step route · Aruba to the Netherlands

Take your learning across the Kingdom.

Your school approves it, a funder may help pay for it, and support services can help you settle. Keep the three roles apart.

In short

  • Academic approval first, from your own school.
  • The Kingdom Scholarship funds; it does not place you.
  • Arubahuis and SEA support you; they do not broker internships.

Your timeline

  1. Academic route first

University of Aruba students must meet the Office of International Affairs before asking for academic recommendations. At vocational level, DEA's policy lists mediation of international BPV placements among the tasks of a school's BPV office, so start there. Get the learning goals, credit, agreement and assessment confirmed for your own programme.

  2. Funding

    The Kingdom Scholarship

The Kingdom Scholarship is a grant for an internship or exchange of 21 days to 6 months elsewhere in the Kingdom, allocated by draw. It is open to full-time students at eligible institutions, which include the University of Aruba, Colegio EPI and Instituto Pedagogico Arubano. It funds; it does not find you a placement.

  3. Finding the host

Aruba Jobs does not list internships in the Netherlands. Ask your school and the Dutch organisations you want to join. Make sure the school approves the placement before you accept.

  4. Support on arrival

Arubahuis describes information, orientation and regional mentors for Aruban students in the Netherlands. SEA lists Caribbean student communities at Dutch institutions. Neither is described as placing students in internships.

  5. Practical plan

Agree housing, insurance, travel and budget with your school and host. Keep records of the work and skills you build so the experience supports your next application.
