Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic IT Specialist to address the comprehensive technical needs of our hotel. With a tech-forward approach, this role is pivotal in overseeing the entire hotel’s IT infrastructure and automation processes. The IT Specialist will be responsible for the effective implementation, continuous monitoring, and maintenance of all our IT systems to ensure operational excellence and enhanced guest experience. We are looking for someone passionate about making a difference by enhancing our systems and incorporating the latest technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to drive innovation and improve service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Management and Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of all IT-related systems within the hotel, including property management systems (PMS), guest service technologies, and internal operational tools, with a keen eye on integrating advanced technologies to streamline operations.
  • Network Infrastructure and Guest WiFi Optimization: Oversee and enhance the hotel’s network infrastructure to ensure robust, secure, and high-speed WiFi connectivity for an exceptional guest experience.
  • Cybersecurity Leadership: Spearhead cybersecurity initiatives to protect hotel data and systems, and lead efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 27001 certification, ensuring the highest standards of information security management.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Act as the primary contact for all help desk activities, addressing hardware, software, networking, and Internet/WiFi issues for both employees and guests, leveraging innovative solutions to enhance user satisfaction.
  • Vendor and Relationship Management: Manage and cultivate relationships with external vendors and internal users to ensure technology solutions meet the hotel’s forward-thinking goals.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage IT projects with an emphasis on incorporating cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget while meeting the hotel’s operational requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess systems and processes for efficiency and effectiveness, recommending improvements to enhance productivity and guest satisfaction through the adoption of new technologies, including AI.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a similar IT role, preferably in the hospitality sector. Proven track record in managing vendor/user relationships, project management, and implementing or supporting advanced technology solutions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Broad knowledge of various technologies and methodologies, with a strong emphasis on the integration of AI and other innovative technologies. Familiarity with PMS and POS systems, such as Opera and Squirrel, is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A degree in Information Technology or a related field, along with relevant certifications. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional customer service skills, a team-oriented personality, excellent communication skills at all levels, creativity, flexibility, and a strong interest in leveraging new technologies to improve operational processes.

Duties and Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on IT equipment, including computers and printers, with an eye towards future-proofing our technology.
  • Offer consistent help desk support for all hotel operations, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction through quick and efficient resolution of tech issues.
  • Engage in proactive project management, from inception to completion, focusing on innovative tech solutions.
  • Uphold the hotel’s professional standards, including adherence to uniform policies and emergency procedures.
  • Promote the hotel’s reputation and commitment to quality and sustainability, complying with LEED, Green Globe 21, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
