Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Delivery Driver to join our team. The Local Delivery Driver will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to customers in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and exceptional customer service abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to customers in various locations within a designated route.
- Load and unload goods onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring that products are securely stacked and organized to prevent damage during transportation.
- Verify delivery instructions and ensure that all necessary paperwork, such as delivery manifests and invoices, is complete and accurate.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers upon delivery, answering questions, and addressing any concerns or issues in a professional manner.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Keep delivery vehicle clean and well-maintained, both inside and out.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other team members to ensure efficient delivery operations.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Qualifications:
- Valid truck driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
- Basic math skills for verifying orders and completing delivery paperwork.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Good vision and hearing to safely operate a vehicle and communicate with customers and team members.
