Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet or exceed the following requirements:
– A college degree in business management, hotel management, or marketing is preferred. A successful hospitality or sales career can enhance this. A background in digital marketing is a must.
– Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English. Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, Papiamento, Italian, and/or German is a plus.
– Ability to monitor online marketing trends, analyze statistics and key data, develop strategies for digital marketing campaigns, and track campaign performance. Must also be able to report on campaign results, create data visualizations, and present insights and findings to Upper Management.
– Must excel in computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, databases). Comprehensive knowledge of hotel CRM software and a background in automated sales office systems is helpful.
– Must be a natural host and people-centric. A track record of successful customer service and a solution-oriented mindset is important.
– Ability and willingness to travel as required.
– A positive influence on team morale and productivity.
– Must possess a comprehensive understanding of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will have a wide range of responsibilities to drive the success of our resort. Some of your key tasks will include:
– Given our small 104-room resort, this position demands a hands-on, proactive, and flexible approach to sales and marketing with a commitment that goes beyond the standard 9-5 mentality.
– Developing and executing digital marketing strategies and plans to target specific markets, including niche market travelers and wellness-focused individuals.
– Collaborating with external creative talent, such as photographers, graphic artists, printers, and digital marketing companies, to ensure the effective communication of our brand positioning and target market through sales materials and advertising campaigns.
– Maintaining a high level of visibility in the local community and hospitality industry.
– Overseeing the eCRM strategy and execution, ensuring the database is up to date with leads and travel agent contacts.
– Supervising the marketing of our Wellness Program to drive growth and guest satisfaction.
– Managing the content of our website and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to engage with guests and agents.
– Guiding the PR strategy to effectively tell the Bucuti story and enhance brand recognition.
– Managing the use of the Bucuti brand logo, text, and visuals to maintain brand standards.
– Coordinating press visits, hosting journalists and bloggers, and handling press inquiries.
– Leading the sales strategy, staying updated on market trends and performance numbers.
– Maintaining accurate sales records, contracts, reports, and conference calendars.
– Building positive relationships with wholesalers, travel agents, and industry representatives.
– Participating in sales calls, road shows, and travel shows to promote Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort.
– Ensuring compliance with Bucuti policies and procedures among all associates.
– Participating in the calculation and distribution of annual room rates.
