I have been working in the hospitality industry since 1984 in Food & Beverage, Front Office, Accounting, Cost Control, Night Audit and lastly Information Technology. Being a Department Head since 1995 has exposed me to all facets of modern hotel operations and how to use available resources to maximize efficiency, increase bottom line and drive results. As management I have worked for hotel companies like Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Hilton International, Concord Hotels, Wyndham International and Marriott International, all in the Information Technology field. I have been part of an audit team during Starwood where I would be deployed to several hotels during the year to audit the property to ensure security, software and IT standards compliance, and report results to corporate office. I have also been executing task-force assignments at different locations where an IT Manager was needed on a temporary basis in the United States and in the Caribbean. I have been accountable for 5 properties directly and another 8 properties indirectly as part of the Marriott Shared Services IT Team. In my current role I am accountable for 2 properties, 5 direct reports, and since July 6, responsible for EndPoint Compliance for the AMERICAS EAST, as well as working with the MAARK Team to help them get ready for their M2 Security Application going live in September 2020. Additionally, I am co-founder of an Accounting company in Aruba that is now being completely managed and owned by my wife. Improving IT infrastructures, getting properties compliant to brand standards, endpoint security, software and ensuring that every piece of hardware/software is functional to increase the efficiency of associates is what drives me to excel as that is my passion.
